We zijn in 2003 met de deelnemende basisschoolkinderen naar Hongarije gegaan om de resultaten
van dit project te bespreken. Hier kun je ons reisverslag bekijken! (Travelogue in Dutch) International Education ProgramOrganisation
Five groups of 5-7 students (age 11-13 yr.) in Gödöllő (Hungary) are linked to five
student groups in Wageningen (Holland). Both groups practice in the exchange of
information in a foreign language with the use of e-mail and carry out a combined
investigation. The organisation is done by local environmental education groups in
both cities. Part 1: Portrait of group and cityStudents collect pictures and map-material of their own city and they make a personal information sheet. Each student group sends this information to its partner-group. Part 2: Bird investigationThe groups investigate the occurrence of twelve selected birdspecies in their city. Results are transferred to the partner group by Internet. Part 3: ConclusionsStudent groups compare the results from their own survey with the results of the partner-group. For species with a clear difference in occurrence in both towns, information is obtained about their environmental demands. This information can be found in books, on the internet or from bird-experts. When this information is linked to the city-information, conclusions about the cause of the differences can be estimated. These conclusions are exchanged with the partner group in a visual (non-textual) way. Part 4: EvaluationStudent groups in both cities meet each other and talk about the project with a representative of the local EE-organisation.
